Vicky Kaushal scores a big milestone with Bad Newz, the film becomes his second best debut week grosser
Bad Newz Box Office Collection Day 7: The romantic-comedy directed by Anand Tiwari is doing well at the box office. It will now face tough competition from Deadpool and Wolverine in the urban market.
Vicky Kaushal’s romantic-comedy Bad Newz has completed its first week in theatres and has registered a decent first week collection. On Thursday, July 25, the film added another Rs 2.75 crore to its total collection.
Industry Tracker Saconilc Bad Newz reportedly earned Rs 42.85 crore within a week of its release. The film opened at Rs 8.3 crore at the box office on Friday, July 19. It then saw some growth on Saturday (Rs 10.25 crore) and Sunday (Rs 11.15 crore). However, the film saw a significant drop in its box office collections on its first Monday as it managed to collect only Rs 3.5 crore.

After the first week, the film managed to earn only ₹18.75 crore at the box office. Kartik Aaryan’s sports drama Chandu Champion It grossed Rs 35.25 crore in the first week. Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Mr & Mrs Mahi also failed to touch the Rs 40 crore mark as it grossed Rs 24.45 crore in the first week.
Bad Newz has not only emerged as a better grosser than many recent Bollywood releases, but it has also created a few records for its lead actor Vicky Kaushal. It has become the best opener of his career. His 2019 hit film Uri: The Surgical Strike had earned Rs 8.20 crore on the first day of its release. Also, Bad Newz is Vicky’s second-best first week at the ticket counters after Uri. Uri ended its first week with Rs 70.94 crore.
The film also stars Tripti Dimri and Amy Virk in lead roles and has received mixed response from the audience. It is the story of a woman who gets pregnant with twins and later finds out that both her children have different biological fathers.
Though there are no new Bollywood films releasing this week, Bad News will face competition from the Marvel film, Deadpool and Wolverine in the urban market.
