Romantic-comedy Bad Newz starring Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri and Amy Virk is doing well at the box office. After witnessing a drop of over 65 per cent in collections on its first Monday, the film picked up pace on Tuesday, July 23.

According to industry tracker Sakcinlk, Bad Newz grew over 8 percent on Tuesday and earned around Rs 3.75 crore. This takes the film’s five-day collection in India to Rs 36.95 crore. Now, it remains to be seen if the film manages to touch the Rs 50 crore milestone by the end of its first week in theatres.

Since the makers have launched a ‘Buy 1, Get 1 Free’ offer, the film is expected to get a good footfall in the theatres in the coming days.

Bad Newz, directed by Anand Tiwari, earned Rs 8.3 crore on its first day, giving its lead actor Vicky Kaushal the biggest opener of his career. Soon, it might also become the biggest first-week collection of his career after his 2019 hit film Uri: The Surgical Strike. His last theatrical release, Sam Bahadur earned Rs 36.75 crore By the end of your first week.

The romantic-comedy witnessed a significant growth on its first Saturday and Sunday, earning Rs 10.25 crore and Rs 11.15 crore respectively. However, its box office collections saw a significant drop on its first Monday, adding only Rs 3.5 crore to its total collections.

This Friday, Bad Newz will face competition only from Hollywood dramas Deadpool and Wolverine at the multiplexes, but its real test will be on August 2, when two Bollywood films, Janhvi Kapoor’s Uljhan and Ajay Devgn-Tabu’s Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, will hit the theatres.
