Bad Newz, directed by Anand Tiwari and starring Vicky Kaushal, Tripati Dimri and Amy Virk, added Rs 13 crore in the second week after earning Rs 43 crore in the first week. The film’s total 2-week collection is a little over Rs 56 crore and it should end up with a lifetime collection between Rs 60 and Rs 65 crore. While these are quite respectable numbers in the current box office scenario, what cannot be ignored is how the Vicky Kaushal starrer got a boost right from the fourth day, which helped the film’s business increase by a few crores.
Bad Newz earns Rs 13 crore in second week in India; crosses Rs 100 crore mark globally
Bad Newz’s best performance has come from international markets, where it has earned around $4 million in 2 weeks. It may earn another 500k or so, taking its lifetime earnings to around $4.35-4.50 million. Thanks to a good overseas box office performance, the film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide after 14 days. The box office breakup after 2 weeks is Rs 67.50 crore from India and Rs 32.50 crore from overseas.
Bad news is profitable for its makers
Bad Newz will earn the makers Rs 42-44 crore worldwide in theatrical run. With the non-theatrical profits, the film is a profitable deal for its makers as the total cost of the film including promotions and advertising is Rs 80-85 crore.

About Bad News
Saloni Bagga (Tripti Dimri) is a chef whose entire focus is on bringing ‘Meraki Star’ to her restaurant. She does not have time to pursue any kind of relationship. She gets attracted to Akhil Chaddha (Vicky Kaushal) in a normal marriage. Though she has no intention of being in a relationship, she decides to give it a try considering it a trial period. The two start talking and soon marry each other. Eventually they realise that they are not compatible with each other and separate.
Saloni then moves to a hill station and starts working at a 5-star hotel, which might give her another chance at ‘Meraaki Star’. She falls in love with the hotel owner Gurbir Pannu (Ammy Virk) and most importantly, he is friendly with her. When a drunk Saloni sees a video of Akhil admitting he has moved on from his marriage, she wastes no time in taking matters to another level with Gurbir.
It doesn’t go as she wants, but she finds her ex-husband, who has failed to really move on, in her hotel room to surprise her on the occasion of their one year anniversary. A drunk Saloni even sleeps with Akhil. After 6 weeks, she finds out that she is pregnant. She convinces both men to take a paternity test, only to find out that they are both going to be fathers.
Saloni finds herself in a dilemma. Who does she choose between the two as the father of her children? To know this, you will have to watch Bad Newz.
