Varun Dhawan’s action-thriller Baby John failed to draw audiences to theaters even on the New Year holidays. Released on Christmas, the film opened with Rs 11.25 crore, but has seen a steady decline in box office collections. On Wednesday it could earn only Rs 2.75 crore.

In contrast, Pushpa 2 starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna performed better than Baby John despite being in theaters for 28 days. On Wednesday alone, Pushpa 2 earned Rs 13.15 crore, of which Rs 9.5 crore came from its Hindi version. This mass actioner directed by Sukumar has collected a staggering nett of Rs 1184.65 crore in India.

Similarly, Disney’s family entertainment Mufasa: The Lion King attracted more viewers than Baby John. The film collected Rs 9.4 crore on Wednesday, of which Rs 3.5 crore came from the Hindi speaking market. Its total net collection in India after 13 days of release has reached Rs 122.1 crore.

Baby John, produced by Atlee, is already disappearing from theaters and is expected to end its run soon. It is likely that it will become the lowest grossing film in Varun Dhawan’s filmography.
