Ayya the Lion of Tamil Nadu: The biopic of PMK founder Ramdos was announced with the poster
Director Cheran with Ari Arujunan in the lead role to hem the biopic ‘Ayya – The Lion of Tamil Nadu’. The film will find out the lives of PMK founder Ramdos and Vanniyar reservation movement.

Director Cheran, ‘Ayya – The Lion of Tamil Nadu’ is ready to direct a biopic, which was the founder of Pattali Makkal Kachi (PMK), Dr. Ramdos focuses on life and political journey. The project marks the return of Cheran’s return to filmmaking, starring Towino Thomas after his acting in ‘Narivata’. The film will turn into an important role in the early life of Ramdos and the 1987 Vanniyar reservation movement.
The makers of the film released four posters, capturing moments with the 1987 opposition. He said, “His voice roared for the soundless. Now, his story roars on the big screen.” The opposition to the film is expected to highlight, due to which the Vanniar community received 20 percent reservation by 1989.

Actor R. Arujunan has been put in the lead role. Expressing his enthusiasm, Arri said, “Dr. Ramdos’ biopic, thrilled to be a part of Ayya! Thanks to director Cheran sir and producer Tamil Kumaran for this occasion.” Other cast roles including Ramdos’s son Anbumani Ramdos are unknown.
Doctor-Nar-Nar-Raja, Abumani Ramdos attracted national attention as a Union Health Minister during the UPA government from 2004 to 2009.

The technical team of ‘Ayya’ includes cinematographer Ekhamabram, music director Sundaramurthy KS and editor Pon Kathiresh. The film is produced by GKM Tamil Kumaran, although the release date has not been announced yet.
The film brings to light significant events and figures in Tamil Nadu’s socio-political scenario, highlighting Ramados’ contribution and influence of his activism. Given both the director’s reputation and sensitive subject matter, the anticipation around the film is notable.
