Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the finest actors in the industry, but for only the second time in his career, Khurrana has to experience a year without a film release. Despite this, the actor remains in the headlines. He has recently released songs and is currently touring across the United States performing with his music band, Ayushmaanbhava. During a recent appearance on a podcast, Ayushmann admitted to suffering from childhood trauma as he recalled being ‘beaten with slippers and belts’ by his dictatorial father, saying it was part of the curriculum.

Ayushmann Khurrana shared in the Honestly Saying podcast that he became a father at the age of 20, revealing that his first film, Vicky Donor, was released when he was already a parent. Reflecting on that phase, he mentioned that he and his wife, Tahira Kashyap, grew and evolved together while facing the challenges of being young parents.

The Dream Girl actor also shed light on how having a daughter has deeply impacted him, adding that daughters inspire him to be a better and more empathetic person.

When asked if he is a different father than his own, Ayushmann immediately agreed with a laugh and said, “I am a completely different father. He was my dictator. Beating with slippers, belts etc. was part of the curriculum, and was, of course, childhood trauma.

Describing one particularly disturbing incident, Ayushmann said, “One day I was returning from a party, and the smell of cigarette smoke was coming from my shirt. Now, I never touched it because of my father’s fear. But still I was beaten for it.”

On the professional front, Khurrana is currently involved in an upcoming project under Dharma Productions, co-starring Sara Ali Khan. The Kedarnath actress recently shared some unseen pictures from the sets of the film with director Akash Kaushik.

Pinkvilla had previously reported that the film is expected to be a quintessential Khurrana project, as it defies all the conventions of spy films in Hindi cinema to date.

Additionally, he has confirmed his entry into the horror-comedy universe of Maddock Films with Thaama. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film will feature actors like Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal along with Ayushmann.
