‘Avatar Fire and Ash’ will be released in December 2025
The third installment of the ‘Avatar’ series has been named ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’. It will be released in December 2025.

The much-awaited third installment of the ‘Avatar’ series, ‘Avatar: Fire and Ashes’ will hit the theaters on December 19, 2025. James Cameron will direct the film.
‘Avatar’ director James Cameron and actors Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington revealed the title during the D23 Expo on Friday, August 9. Although Cameron didn’t share any footage from the upcoming film, he did unveil some concept art from ‘Avatar: Fire and Ashes,’ which shows Neytiri (Saldana) dancing on flames and riding a banshee.

“You’ll see Pandora like never before. It’s a crazy adventure and a feast for the eyes, but it also has higher emotional stakes than ever before. We’re heading into really challenging territory for all of the characters you know and love,” Cameron said, according to Variety.
Cameron is back to direct the new Avatar film, which has a screenplay written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, the publication reports. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana reprise their roles, and the film is scheduled to be released on December 19, 2025. Disney and 20th Century Studios have planned two more Avatar films: “Avatar 4” on December 21, 2029, and “Avatar 5” on December 19, 2031.
‘Avatar’ (2009) holds the record for the highest-grossing film of all time. Its sequel ‘Avatar: Way of Water’, to be released in December 2022, is the third-highest-grossing film of all time.
