Saif Ali Khan was attacked with a knife by an intruder at his Bandra home in Mumbai around 2:30 am on Thursday. The actor was taken to Lilavati Hospital for emergency surgery. His team issued a statement confirming the attempted burglary and asking for privacy as authorities continue their investigation. Although earlier reports suggested he be discharged within 2-3 days, doctors have now shared that they are now closely monitoring his recovery before taking any decision regarding his release .
According to an earlier report by Times of India, doctors had said in a press conference that considering Saif Ali Khan’s steady recovery, he could potentially be discharged in 2-3 days. However, he stressed the importance of ensuring that the actor gets proper rest.
However, during the same press conference, the doctors stressed that they are closely monitoring Saif Ali Khan’s recovery and will take a decision on his discharge once his condition improves.
He revealed that he suffered a wound to his back and narrowly escaped a more serious injury by only two millimeters. Additionally, he mentioned that he reached the hospital with his young child. Doctors also said it would take about a week for him to recover completely, but refrained from commenting on whether the police had requested his statement.
Recently, a doctor shared that Saif Ali Khan is being moved from the ICU to a special room for his continued recovery. To ensure proper comfort, visitors will be limited for the time being. After the surgery, Saif was first kept in ICU for observation for a day.
Meanwhile, in its efforts to trace the intruder responsible for the attack on Saif, Mumbai Police has mobilized 35 teams.
