On January 17, 2025, Saif Ali Khan’s insurance policy went viral on X (formerly Twitter). In the document, it was mentioned that the 54-year-old actor was diagnosed with ‘injury to unspecified body area’. The Hum Tum actor was admitted to Bandra’s Lilavati Hospital and Research Center on January 16, 2025, the day the incident occurred at his Mumbai home.
The document further mentions that Saif’s expected discharge date is January 21, 2025, about five days after his hospitalization. According to the viral document, while the family requested a sum of Rs 3,598,700, the company sanctioned Rs 2,500,000.

Soon after the document went viral, the insurance company, Niva Bupa Health Insurance, issued a statement while speaking to Mint. “A cashless pre-authorisation request was sent to us upon his hospitalisation, and we have sanctioned the initial amount to start the treatment,” he said.
The company also expressed concern and wished the acclaimed actor a speedy and safe recovery.
Sharing more details, the company said that once they receive the final bill after complete treatment, it will be settled as per the terms and conditions of the policy. They concluded, “We stand with Mr. Khan and his family at this critical time.”
Earlier, on January 16, Kareena Kapoor Khan had talked about this incident on her Instagram account. She said in her note, “This has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to come to terms with the events that have unfolded. As we are going through these difficult times, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from constant speculation and coverage.
The Crew actress further added, “While we appreciate the concern and support, the constant scrutiny and attention is not only overwhelming but also a significant threat to our safety. I ask that you respect our boundaries and give us the space we need to heal and cope as a family. I want to thank you in advance for your understanding and support during this sensitive time.”
