Atli gets an honorary doctorate from Satyabama University, gives emotional speech

Filmmaker Atley was honored with an honorary doctorate by Satyabama Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai. This is the same university where he once studied and dreamed of becoming the first director.
The prestigious recognition was awarded during the 34th convocation held on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Chancellor of the university, Dr. Mariazaina Johnson made the director of ‘Jawan’ more special with an honorary doctoral certificate and the memorial plaque in the presence of his wife Priya.
Atley received a large -scale honor in his recognition of his immense contribution to the Indian film industry, in which his works were given global praise. Starting with ‘Raja Rani’, Atallie gave a large-scale hit, including ‘Una’, ‘Mercel’, ‘Bigil’, and Pan-India Fenomanon Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan.
Speaking at the convocation, Atallie became emotional as he remembered his journey to receive his highest honor by being a student on the campus.
He said, “It is real to be honored by the same university where I once went as a student with big dreams. It was here that I learned the power of faith,” he said.
The filmmaker shouted an emotional shout to his family during his speech. He said, “My parents were standing near me until I became a filmmaker. But what I am is my wife Priya Atli. And the person who made me a better person is my son,” he said.
Allu Arjun also congratulated the director for this honor. He wrote, “To get an honorary doctorate, great greetings to @Atlee_Dir Garu. In fact, his passion and craft is being celebrated at this level.
