Speaking on the Lex Fridman Podcast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated his call for diplomacy to resolve the war in Ukraine, told Russian President Vladimir Putin that “This is not the time of war” that the victory of the battlefield would not lead a final affection.
Since 2015, Mr. Fridman, a research scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is the host of Lex Fridman Podcast on YouTube. Mr. Fridman’s channel has more than 4.5 million customers and close to 820 million.
Speaking on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine struggle, PM Modi said that he had close relations with the two countries.
“I have the same relationship with Russia and Ukraine,” he said. “I can sit with President Putin and say that it is not a time of war. And I can also tell President Zelanceci in a friendly way, that brother, whatever people stand in the world with you, there will never be any proposal in the battlefield.”
He said, “Ukraine can discuss countlessly with his colleagues, but it will not give any fruit. The discussions should include both sides,” he said.
Kremlin today confirmed that Russia and the United States discussed the “next step” to end the war after new diplomatic efforts. Hours ago, European colleagues of Kives urged Moscow to be unconditionally for a 30-day ceasefire. The United States pushed for a ceasefire after a conversation in Saudi Arabia, which was accepted by Ukraine.
Speaking on the latest developments, PM Modi said: “Initially, it was challenging to find peace, but now, the present situation presents an opportunity for meaningful and productive dialogue between Ukraine and Russia. There is a lot of pain. Even the global south has been damaged.”
President Putin has avoided agreeing to the proposal so far, listed a series of conditions and said “serious questions” about the initiative.
Accusing Moscow of delaying peace efforts on Moscow, Zelancesi said, “The Kremlin does not want to end the war. They want to improve their position on the battlefield before agreeing to any ceasefire.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that US State Secretary Marco Rubio spoke with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov. According to Moscow, the two discussed “solid aspects of implementation of understanding”, which had reached a US in Saudi Arabia last month.
