Assi touches both your heart and mind: Javed Akhtar reviews Anubhav Sinha’s film
Veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar, while reviewing Assi, described Anubhav Sinha’s film as a rare story that touches both the heart and mind while raising serious questions about justice.
Veteran poet, lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar recently reviewed Anubhav Sinha Asi. In an exclusive video obtained by India TodayThe 80-year-old actor is seen talking about the story of the film, its message and the way it makes the audience think.
“Some pictures touch your heart. And some films work on an intellectual level, they influence your mind. But very few films manage to touch both your heart and mind at the same time. I believe Asi It’s such a movie,” he said in the video.

Akhtar, who is known for his critical approach towards cinema, praised the Taapsee Pannu-starrer for the way it handled a difficult subject. He said, “On one level, it is a deeply emotional story that will impact common people. But on another level, it leaves behind some serious questions. It doesn’t give easy answers. Instead, it poses those questions to society.”
According to Akhtar, Asi Appeals to anyone wishing to reflect and understand the kind of society we live in. “Anyone who thinks deeply, who pays attention to what’s happening around us, will walk away from this film reflecting. It’s described in a very beautiful and compelling way. And ultimately, the film leaves you with both answers and questions,” he concluded.
