During this phase, the multiple award-winning artiste reportedly formed a close relationship with fellow contestant Ruprekha Banerjee. His childhood friend and neighbor from Murshidabad, Koel Roy, re-entered his life during a quieter, more introspective period. Coel, who was previously married and had a daughter, shared a similar understanding of life, allowing their relationship to stay away from the limelight.
According to many reports, Arijit and Koyal got married quietly in January 2014 at the Tarapith temple in West Bengal. The ceremony followed traditional Bengali customs and was attended by only close family. Today, the couple is raising three children, two sons together and Coel’s daughter from her previous marriage. Despite global fame, Arijit leads a modest life, often spending time in his hometown and choosing simplicity over ostentation.
