A large part of the showbiz industry is based on people’s perceptions, and celebrities are often in the spotlight, making it difficult to keep their personal lives private.
This is especially true for Chicago PD alums Tracy Spiridakos and Jesse Lee Soffer, who previously played Hailey Upton and Jay Halstead on the Dick Wolf cop drama. The two have sparked romance rumors after being spotted together.
On August 29, Spiridakos shared several photos of herself and Soffer spending time in Lisbon, Portugal. The carousel began with the two smiling for a selfie together. The two seemed relaxed, happy and in the mood for a vacation, even posing for a photo during a meal.
Fans on Instagram took to the comments section with their sharp eyes, speculating that they could be more than just friends at this point.
One user on Instagram said, “Omggg you both look so good together!!!” Another user then tagged the two actors and said, “I love you both!!! You are a beautiful couple… my favorite couple on and off stage!!! I wish you both lots of happiness!!!!”
Some fans referenced their on-screen couple nickname: Upsted. “Upsted forever,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Upsted together again,” followed by a sentimental heart emoji.
In reel life, Soffer starred in the Chicago PD series from Season 1 to Season 10. Spiridakos joined the cast in Season 4 before exiting after Season 11. Their characters marry after a slow-burn romance on the show but eventually divorce.
Chicago PD Season 12 premieres September 25 on NBC.
According to PEOPLE, after news of Soffer’s departure broke, Spiridakos wrote a heartfelt post for her beloved co-star. She shared an Instagram photo of the two together on set and wrote, “I think it’s come out… Jesse, what can I say, you’re the best. Thank you for your kindness, your guidance, and your friendship.”
You are the best onscreen husband a girl could hope for. I will miss being on set with you every day. I can’t wait to see what the world brings you next. #UpsteadForever.”
