Apple’s foldable iPhone could be the smallest and largest phone ever, leak says
iPhone Fold will be a big step for Apple. Not only will it be the company’s first foldable device, but it will also have the smallest and largest screen on a modern iPhone.

Apple is expected to enter the foldable smartphone market next year with the so-called iPhone Fold. This device will be the company’s first foldable. But that’s not all, the foldable iPhone is likely to have many more ‘firsts’ for the Cupertino giant, including the smallest and largest screen ever seen on an iPhone.
iPhone Fold will be the smallest and largest iPhone ever
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, Apple’s first foldable iPhone is said to have a 5.25-inch cover display. If confirmed, it would make it the smallest screen ever on a modern iPhone. The display size of iPhone 13 Mini was 5.4 inches.
The 5.25-inch outer panel is more compact than most competing book-style foldables, including Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold and the Oppo Find N5, which have 6.4-inch and 6.62-inch cover displays, respectively. In comparison, Samsung’s original Galaxy Fold had a 4.6-inch cover display, but the latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a 6.5-inch outer screen.
But, when the iPhone Fold is opened up, things change dramatically. The device will likely come with a 7.58-inch inner display, which is bigger than any we’ve seen on iPhones so far. For reference, the iPhone 17 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch OLED display.
iPhone Fold, here’s what we know
The leak suggests that Apple is focusing on making the device as thin as possible. Instead of including 3D Face ID hardware or a 3D ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor, the Cupertino giant is expected to use a side-mounted Touch ID sensor to reduce the thickness of the device.
It has also been suggested to use an under-display camera in an internal display, allowing the front-facing camera to be hidden beneath the screen when not in use. The external display will likely adopt a punch-hole camera design, using HIAA (Hole-in-Active-Area) technology to reduce dead space. It’s unclear from the leak whether or how Apple’s Dynamic Island feature will be optimized for these displays.
Apart from the selfie cameras, the iPhone Fold is expected to use a 48-megapixel dual rear camera setup. The device will likely be powered by the yet-to-be-announced A20 Pro chipset, similar to the iPhone 18 Pro models.
iPhone Fold launch and expected price
Apple is expected to launch its first foldable with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September 2026.
Reports suggest that the device will be priced around $2,400 (roughly Rs. 2,15,000) in the US.
