Apple is expanding its popular AppleCare+ plan in India to include theft and loss coverage for iPhone. With the new update, iPhone users will be eligible for replacement of their lost or stolen iPhone if they meet certain conditions.

Apple already offers AppleCare+ in India. But now, there are some new upgrades. The company is expanding its device security offerings in India, and this time it’s a big deal for iPhone users. The company is launching AppleCare+ with theft and loss coverage in the country, which means you can now get a new iPhone if your iPhone is lost or stolen, provided you follow some important rules.
This is the first time that Apple is bringing a full protection plan with more flexible monthly and annual payment options for Indian users.
So what’s new? In simple terms, AppleCare+ will now cover your Apple device beyond accidental damage. Users will continue to get unlimited repairs using genuine Apple parts, battery service, and 24/7 priority support, in addition to the theft and loss plan for iPhone. This plan will allow users to get a replacement in case they lose their device. Apple says the new enhanced coverage is now available to eligible users.
Apple device owners can subscribe to AppleCare+ for iPhone with subscription plans starting at Rs 799 per month. Or you can make a lump sum payment to purchase it. For iPhones, prices for standard two-year AppleCare+ plans are:
AppleCare+ 2-year plan for iPhone
Rs 10,900 – iPhone 16e
Rs 14,900 – iPhone 17, iPhone 16
Rs 17,900 – iPhone 16 Plus
Rs 20,900 – iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max

How to claim theft and loss protection for iPhone?
Now, let’s talk about the new theft and loss upgrade to AppleCare+ for iPhones. This new enhanced protection will allow users to receive two replacement claims every 12 months. But Apple makes one thing very clear: there are no cash payments. Instead, Apple replaces your device with an equivalent model.
Speaking to India Today Tech, an Apple spokesperson shared the exact steps that users need to follow to get a new iPhone if their device is lost or stolen. Needless to say, the phone must be under an active AppleCare+ plan.
Here’s what Apple requires for a valid theft or loss claim:
– Find My should be enabled when the iPhone is lost or stolen.
– The device must remain linked to the user’s Apple ID throughout the claim process.
– Users will receive a maximum of two theft or loss claims per 12 month period.
– If Find My is turned off, or the iPhone is not linked to the Apple ID through which AppleCare+ was purchased, the claim will not be approved.
– Additionally, at the time of claim, users must share a copy of the FIR as proof that their device has been stolen or lost. it’s mandatory.
