For iPhones, Rumors are rounding Apple’s future plans. A Bloomberg report claimed that the 20th anniversary iPhone would have a curved performance to match the new liquid glass theme of iOS.

However, Tipster Ice Universe has claimed that Apple is never planning for such redesign ever. Ice Universe is a reliable leakar, whose leaks are usually correct.

On X, he insisted that Cupertino-Jint had informed his suppliers that no iPhone was about to perform so. Rather, the Ice Universe provided an alternative curved design inspired by a separate fractured product.

The Ice Universe cited technical challenges with a thin-film encapsulation (TFE) and OCA (optical clear adhesive) application. Tfe AMOLED is important in the display as it acts as a protective layer, preventing external elements from damaging the screen. The OCA is the adhesive layer that attachs different components of a phone.

According to the tipster, Apple has not yet found a proper solution to fix his issues. Currently, the company is afraid that improper execution may cause distorted views on the sides due to the “magnifying effect”.

While he said that there will be no quad-split on the iPhone, it can still pack a striking new design. He concluded, “Glass design of a unibody quad-glass may be possible, but only the glass will be bent; the display will remain completely flat with zero curvature.”

20th anniversary iPhone: What do we know here

In addition to rumored curved screens, there are features that can make it in 2027 iPhone.

While the phone should be named iPhone 19, Apple is planning to leave number 19 and call it on iPhone 20. The name change will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iPhone, in which the original iPhone was launched in 2007.
