Today Apple has started selling officially refurbished versions of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Their prices are discounted 12% to 22% compared to the company’s current new price (for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, which are still offered as new), or the original price of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, both of which have been discontinued.

If you buy an officially refurbished iPhone, you get an unlocked device that comes in a plain box with a brand new battery, a new outer casing, and a USB-C cable. Apple also covers these under its warranty, and they are eligible for extended AppleCare+ or AppleCare One coverage. Refurbished iPhones are also thoroughly cleaned and tested, and should be indistinguishable from brand new devices.
