According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing to release its second-generation AirTag in mid-2025. The new model is expected to have significant improvements in range, wireless connectivity and security, making it a significant update compared to the original version released in 2021.

How has AirTag evolved

The original AirTags were revealed in early 2021 after years of speculation and leaks.
