Apple Mac Studio with M3 Ultra Chip announced: a breakdown of the latest chipset
Apple’s M3 Ultra Chipset, M2, marks a major upgradation in terms of processing power and power efficiency compared to ultra.
Listen to the story

Amid product announcements from Apple last month, Mac Studio is an interesting interesting interesting. It comes in two chip configurations of M4 Max and M3 Ultra, later the most powerful chipset in the M series of Apple. The chip marks a major upgradation in the context of processing power and power efficiency compared to M2 Ultra. Of course, Mac Studio with M3 Ultra Chip is suitable for those who demand top -level performance, offering CPU, GPU and memory capabilities.
Apple claims that M3 Ultra is its most powerful chip to date. Made on Apple’s ultrafusion packaging architecture, it dies maximum through more than 10,000 high-speed interconnects, allowing them to act as a single unit. This approach ensures high performance by maintaining apple’s signature power efficiency.
Apple’s M3 Ultra Chip has a 32-core CPU and an 80-core GPU. The CPU is divided into 24 performance core and 8 efficiency core, promising major performance improvements on its predecessors. Apple states that M3 Ultra M2 almost doubles the CPU performance and GPU performance better than the M2 Ultra. Additionally, it facilitates a 32-core nerve engine to increase AI and machine learning abilities.
Another major addition is Thunderbolt 5 support, which significantly increases data transfer speed, which reaches 120GB/s. This improvement should be allowed for spontaneous workflow in demand for applications like video editing, 3D rendering and software development.
One of the standout capabilities of the M3 Ultra Chip is the ability to power up to eight Pro display XDR monitors simultaneously. It translates more than 160 million pixels being operated at once.
