Apple launches new tool to help you choose the right MacBook for you
Apple has introduced a new ‘Help Me Choose’ quiz on its website to help its customers find the ideal MacBook. The tool generates recommendations based on a specific user’s needs and budget.
Do you want a new MacBook but aren’t sure which Mac will be best for your needs? Apple will now help you choose the right Mac for you. The tech giant has launched a new section on its website that aims to simplify the process of choosing the right MacBook. The “Help Me Choose” quiz is designed to help potential customers find the best Mac for their needs and budget through a series of targeted questions.
The Help Me Choose quiz consists of a series of questions asking users what they will primarily use their Mac for, such as daily office tasks like designing or creating documents, school, entertainment, or just hobbies. This initial question is followed by more detailed questioning. For example, students may be asked if they need their Mac for online classes or to run specific creative software, while creative professionals may state their need for photo or video editing capabilities.
If the user needs a Mac for different purposes, such as combining work, study and entertainment in one device, they can also select multiple use cases. This flexibility ensures that recommendations are tailored to each person’s specific needs.
Additionally, users can specify whether they need a laptop for mobility or whether they plan to use their Mac in a portable or stationary position, such as on a desk. The quiz also allows users to indicate which peripherals they plan to use with their Mac, providing a more comprehensive recommendation based on their entire setup.
Apart from features and usage, another big question in the quiz is budget, which is of course the main question. Users can choose from budget options ranging from $1000 to $3500. After entering all this information, Apple’s algorithm takes it into account to suggest the most suitable Mac within the specified price range. Notably, the algorithm doesn’t just suggest the base model; it considers possible upgrades to memory and storage that could enhance the user experience, especially if the budget is flexible.
How to access the Help Me Choose a MacBook quiz:
This new MacBook Finder feature is available through the Mac section of Apple’s website. Users can find the “Help Me Choose” quiz by selecting the “Compare” option or by going to “Shop Mac” and then “Shopping Guides.” Visit apple.com/mac/best-mac/ to start the quiz.
The first question on this quiz is, “Tell us what you’ll be using your Mac for.” For example, if you choose Work, you’ll need to add options like what kind of work you’ll be doing on it, where you’ll place your Mac, whether you’ll be plugging in any external devices, etc. Finally, you’ll specify a budget.
