Full specifications and features of iPad Air M4
The biggest key feature of the 2026 iPad Air is the Core chip. The new iPad Air is powered by the M4 chip and hence, the biggest upgrade comes by way of faster performance. Apple says the new model with M4 with an 8-core CPU and 9-core GPU is 30 percent faster than the iPad Air with M3 and 2.3 times faster than the iPad Air with M1. You also get 50 percent more integrated system memory in this generation.
Apple has also updated the Wi-Fi and cellular chips. These are N1 and C1X respectively. Apple claims the N1 “brings better performance when connected to 5GHz Wi-Fi networks and improves the overall performance and reliability of features like Personal Hotspot and AirDrop” while with the C1X which is what you’ll find in the 5G model, it claims to offer “50 percent faster cellular data performance – and for active cellular users, 30 percent less modem energy usage than the iPad Air with the M3.”
The rest of the specifications and design have mostly changed from the previous generation.
