Pre-orders are expected to begin soon, with the Apple Store set to resume operations in a matter of hours. For customers eager to secure the new Apple gadgets, it is advisable to keep a close eye on the store, as pre-orders are set to begin at 5:30 PM IST. As per Apple’s release timeline, these devices will begin shipping from September 20.
Apple is actively promoting the iPhone 16 series’ Apple Intelligence features, although these won’t be available at launch. Instead, the new capabilities are set to debut with iOS 18.1 next month. All iPhone 16 models are designed to be compatible with Apple Intelligence.
Hardware-wise, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max feature a number of upgrades, including a bigger screen, new chipset, bigger battery, new 48-megapixel (ultra-wide) triple camera setup, and a dedicated camera control button. Located on the side of the phone, this button makes photo and video capture easier, offering swipe functionality to control settings like zoom.
Even the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus get camera controls and action buttons, which were previously reserved for the Pro models. The standard models come with new chipsets, new colours, and bigger batteries.

The iPhone 16 Plus starts at Rs 89,900 for the 128GB model, while the 256GB and 512GB variants are priced at Rs 99,900 and Rs 1,19,900, respectively.
If you are looking for the iPhone 16 Pro, it has a starting price of Rs 1,19,900, which is for its 128GB model. Apple also offers 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options, which are priced at Rs 1,29,900, Rs 1,49,900, and Rs 1,69,900, respectively. For those who want the most premium model, the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,44,900 for the 256GB variant. The 512GB version will cost Rs 1,64,900, while the top-tier 1TB model costs Rs 1,84,900.
