Apple has been extended to introduce the new iPad Pro and Macbook Pro models operated by the upcoming M5 chip in 2025. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has claimed in his latest report that Apple has already moved to an advanced testing phase to the iPad Pro, to start in the second half of the year with production sets. If things are employed, the new model can be launched around October, after the 2018 or 2022 iPad Pro release timeline.
Apple is being made one of the first devices one of the first devices for the facility of M5 chip, even though the company launched the M4-operated iPad Pro in May 2024. This iPad Pro model brought a major overhaul with an OLED display, a thin design and a reposited front camera. However, the upcoming iPad Pro M5 version is not expected to introduce any rigid design changes, and the upgrade will possibly focus on performance improvement with the M5 chip. The quoted report states that Apple is testing several variants of the new iPad Pro under internal codename J817, J818, J820 and J821.
In addition to the iPad Pro, Apple is allegedly preparing new MacBook Pro models with M5 chip featuring the M5 chip. While these laptops are expected to come some time after this year, they cannot bring any major hardware upgrade. Rumors suggest that Apple is working on a large redesign for MacBook Pro, possibly for 2026, which can introduce an OLED display and a slimmer design. If so, the users looking for a complete refreshing can stop upgrade until the new design arrives.
For your reference, Apple introduced the M4 chip in May 2024 with the new iPad Pro model. It later announced the M4 Pro and Max Chipset in October 2024 for Apple Computer. Therefore, if we go from last year’s program, Apple is a little late. The iPad Pro M5 should come in a few months, but it seems that the company may target for the release of October. However, nothing has been officially confirmed yet, so users are advised to take these details with a pinch of salt.
Apple’s in-house M5 chip is expected to provide processing power, energy efficiency and improvement in AI-related capabilities, making it a remarkable upgradation for professional users.
With the hope of starting production in the second half of this year, more information about Apple’s M5-operated equipment may be surface in the coming months or weeks.
