Listen to the story

Apple users have been expecting Airpods Pro 3 for some time. The company launched the current Airpods Pro 2 in 2022, and since then it has updated only its high-end yearbuds with USB-C charging ports. The next-round update for Airpods Pro 3 is still waiting. Now the latest leak suggests that the launch is near and it is possible that Airpods Pro 3 WWDC may come early next month during 2025.
While Apple has not yet officially announced any specific scheme for Airpods Pro 3, a change in recent software code and leak suggest that the next generation of earbuds are not far away. Macrums reports that Apple has changed references from “AirPods Pro 2nd Generation” to “AirPods Pro 2 or later” in one of the company’s code. Change shows that a new model of AirPods Pro is adjacent. Typically, Apple launched new audio devices with iPhone in September, but the company has often surprised users with earlier releases.
So if Airpods Pro 3 is ready, it is likely that Apple may launch them during the annual developer conference starting on 9 June next month. This is the next large Apple event, and as Airpods Pro is long overdue for an update, they can be one of the highlights – with the next software repetitions in the ecosystem.
What is expected from Apple AirPods Pro 3
According to rumors, big updates are going to be healthy for what will be the facility of new AirPods Pro 3. It is likely that AirPods Pro 3 will get in-age heart rate monitoring. This is also a strong possibility as this feature is available in the newly launched Powerbeats Pro2. Unlike wrist-based sensors-which can struggle during high-movement workouts-in-ear sensors can offer more consistent readings, especially during acute physical activity such as running. Reports also indicate that the AIRPODS Pro 3 may include in-age temperature tracking in the Apple, which currently improves the skin temperature sensor found in apple watches.
Another major internal upgradation may be in addition to Apple’s next-jewel H3 chip, which will replace the H2 chip in the current model. H3 is expected to distribute large reforms throughout the board – including active active noise cancellation (ANC), better audio processing and more efficient battery uses.
We are also expecting some design changes, as both the first and second generation of airpods share the same designs. According to rumors, while reputed stem can remain for functional and touch reasons, both cases and earbuds can be re -designed. Charging case may be smaller, similar to changes made with upcoming airpods 4, although it can affect support for MAGSAFE and QI2 wireless charging magnets. Additionally, Apple can eliminate visible LEDs and physical coupling buttons in favor of more spontaneous gesture-based controls.
Audio performance with new drivers and better ANC algorithms is expected to be upgraded. Leikar Kosutmi had earlier claimed that AIRPODS Pro 3 would greatly improve the ANC, possibly addressing complaints from users who feel that noise cancellation in recent firmware updates has weakened. We can also see support for high-resolution audio.
