Actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor wanted to hire the same wedding filmmaker who shot Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli and Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh’s lavish weddings in Italy. However, he refused. In a recent interview, Vishal Punjabi of The Wedding Filmer revealed why he turned down Alia and Ranbir’s request to cover their wedding rituals.

In Shivani Pou’s podcast, Punjabi revealed that Alia and Ranbir had approached him just a few weeks ago Their wedding ceremony on April 14, 2022. He said, “When Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt called me for their wedding, I was not available. A lot of these celebrities call me two weeks before their wedding because it’s a secret and no one can find out.”

Punjabi said, “The downside is that I am not available for most of them. I have never cancelled a wedding to cover a celebrity wedding. I didn’t film Alia and Ranbir’s wedding because I was already booked to film a very beautiful, lovely bride’s wedding in London. I still wouldn’t change it for the world. She was beautiful, and it was a beautiful experience. One could have got a good video of Ranbir and Alia’s wedding.”

Alia and Ranbir got married in a private ceremony at their Vastu home in Bandra, Mumbai. The ceremony was attended by family members including Soni Razdan, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Bharat Sahni, Mahesh Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt and Neetu Kapoor. Also present at the wedding were Kareena and Saif Ali Khan as well as Taimur and Jeh, Ayan Mukerji, Karan Johar, Akash and Shloka Ambani and others.
