Anushka Sharma is currently enjoying parenthood with her husband cricketer Virat Kohli. Anushka, who was staying in London with Virat and their children Vamika and Akay, returned to India last night. After arriving in Mumbai, Anushka attended an event where she shared that the couple are not “perfect parents” to their children. The actress said that they complain about things, while stressing that it can be normalised.
While attending an event in Mumbai, Anushka Sharma opened up about her parenting journey with Virat Kohli and also revealed the pressure of being “perfect parents”. Anushka mentioned the imperfections of being a parent and said that she believes in normalising them.
“There’s a lot of pressure to be like a perfect parent. We’re not perfect parents, we will complain about things, and it’s okay for them to admit that. So they know you have flaws,” Anushka said on the show.
The Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi actress said admitting mistakes as a parent makes it easier for everyone in the family. “Imagine kids have to think ‘oh my parents are like this’. So admitting your mistakes (makes it easier),” she said.
Anushka Sharma also stressed on inculcating good values in her children, daughter Vamika and son Akay. The 36-year-old actress said that Vamika is “too young” to teach her anything right now. Anushka shared that the couple becomes an example for their children in how they live their lives.
The Chakda Express star praised his daughter Vamika, who has learnt how to express gratitude to others in life and be thankful for the things she has.
Shedding light on the common ambitions of parents for their children, Anushka asserted that it is quite a “selfish place” to be. The actress said that parents should be grateful and their children will follow in their footsteps.
The ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ actress further said that if parents set examples in their lives then children can learn positive things from their environment.
On the work front, Anushka Sharma will return as the lead in Chakda Express after the 2018 film Zero.
