Anushka Sharma says daughter Vamika is not fooled by her parenting tricks
Anushka Sharma opened up about the challenges she faces in feeding healthy food to her daughter Vamika and revealed that she uses her acting skills to explain the benefits of nutritious food. Vamika often gets the hang of her tricks.

Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma recently opened up about the challenges of feeding healthy food to her three-year-old daughter Vamika. The actress, who recently revealed that she and her husband Virat Kohli cook for their kids, explained how she manages Vamika’s diet choices. She said that although she tries to fool her daughter, Vamika has grown up to be a smart kid and often doesn’t believe her mother.
Speaking at Slurp Farm’s Yes Moms and Dads event, Anushka revealed how she keeps Vamika away from junk food. “It was a tough job. Your child is two, and if it’s your first child, it’s a little easier because they haven’t been to a lot of birthday parties. They don’t know that there’s cake and there’s pizza in the world. You create this nice little bubble for them. You’re fooling them,” Anushka laughed as she recalled the initial stages of teaching Vamika healthy eating habits.

As Vamika starts exploring the world and encounters different foods outside her controlled environment, Anushka finds herself going through a new set of challenges. “And then they start seeing things; ‘Oh! Wait a minute, what is that lady not showing me?’ So, I am going through this phase with my daughter,” she said.
To address these challenges, Anushka has developed a unique way to explain the benefits of healthy foods to her daughter. “I think the only way I can explain it, and I am still trying, is to explain it to her. I tell her that there are certain foods that give us energy so that you can play and do different things. Some foods give us energy very quickly, and then we have no energy left to do other things. Other foods give us energy in a way that we can keep playing,” she said.
Anushka insisted on making these explanations interesting and often used her acting skills to make the conversations more interesting.

Zero The actor also shared a memorable experience from a recent trip to Singapore, where she took Vamika to an ice cream museum. “I took her to the ice cream museum because she loves ice cream. She is obsessed. There, I told her, ‘Eat as much as you want.’ She didn’t eat that much. So, I think when you instill the right kind of habits in the beginning, they don’t stuff themselves with 10 ice creams,” she said. Anushka mentioned that Vamika enjoyed only two ice creams before she was satisfied, highlighting the effectiveness of instilling good eating habits early on. “If you instill the right habits in the beginning, they will make the right choices,” Anushka concluded.
