Anurag Kashyap had earlier confirmed that he had left Mumbai as the industry had become toxic. While he did not reveal his location, reports suggested that they had shifted to Bengaluru. After leaving Mumbai and sharing his intentions to praise the South Indian film industry, Anurag Kashyap finally went out of the dream city. However, on April 17, 2025, the actor-director took the X (East Twitter) and said he could leave Bombay, but he has not yet given up on filmmaking. While he said that due to being busy compared to Shah Rukh Khan, the Kennedy manufacturer said that he was coming out for about five projects this year.
In his note, he said, “I have shifted cities. I have not left the film production. For all those who think I am disappointed and gone. I am here and I am busy compared to Shah Rukh Khan (I have to be, I don’t earn as much money) I do not have dates till 2028.”

Kashyap further said, “I expect to stay this year or probably for three and two longests this year or probably. I have the longest IMDB and I work so much that I do not say 3 projects a day.
In earlier chats with Hindu, Vasipur director’s gangs said that he wants to stay away from the film people. “Industry has become very toxic. Everyone is following unrealistic goals, trying to make a film worth Rs 500 and Rs 800 crore. The creative atmosphere is gone,” he expressed.
He also told The Hollywood Reporter India that since the joy of filmmaking in Bollywood is sucked, he is planning to move towards the southern part of India. “That’s why I want to go out. Really, next year, I am going out of Mumbai,” the Black Friday actor confirmed.
