Anurag Kashyap made her start her Kannada with the film 8 of Sujay Chest
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap announced his first Kannada film. He has already worked in Tamil and Malayalam cinema.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, known for films like Gangs of Waspur and Dev D, is fully prepared to make his debut in Kannada Cinema as an actor. Director-turn-actor announced his first Kannada film, Sports Drama 8 of Sujay Chest, where he will play the lead role. Arvind Venkatesh Reddy is producing the film under his banner, AVR Entertainment.
Kashyap shared the news with a poster on Instagram, where he can be seen holding a football with an intensive expression on his face. In the caption, Anurag Kashyap wrote, “My first Kannada film as an actor directed by Sujay Shetri and produced by AVR Entertainment (SIC).”

Anurag Kashyap has produced a Kannada film called Vagchipani or Tiger Pond, written and directed by Natash Hegde. The film was shown at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, for the first time that the film with Kannada feature-length was selected. Take a look at the teaser of the film:
According to reports, Anurag Kashyap recently moved to Bengaluru. In an interview, he revealed to exit Mumbai as he felt that the creative atmosphere had become toxic. He also shared that ever since he moved, his life has changed considerably, saying that he feels very little ‘burden’ and now has time and mental place to focus on his projects.
Anurag Kashyap was last seen on screen in the Malayalam film Rifle Club and Tamil film Viduthalai – Part 2, which was released in theaters on 19 and 20, 2025 respectively. Apart from Kannada Film 8, he has also signed the Telugu film Dakit starring Adivi Sesh and Mrinal Thakur. He will also be seen in the Tamil Film One 2 Ek with the beautiful C of Arnmanai 4 fame.
