Veteran actor Anupam Kher on Monday shared a video revealing that his IndiGo flight from Varanasi to Khajuraho was canceled at the last minute, leaving him stranded in the holy city. Enduring unexpected delays in progress, the 70-year-old actor used the moment to reflect on the importance of not stressing over situations beyond one’s control. IndiGo issued a press statement after the video.
In the video and accompanying post on X (formerly Twitter), Kher talked about choosing acceptance over disappointment and finding happiness in the present moment. He was scheduled to attend the Khajuraho International Film Festival, where his film Tanvi: great Screening is being done.
Sharing details of the incident, Kher wrote, “Flight cancelled! My grandfather used to say, ‘Don’t go through a problem twice! Once by thinking about it, and once by thinking about it!’ Come to #Varanasi by @IndiGo6E! Had to take a connecting flight to #Khajuraho which got cancelled! Disappointment! But decided to make the best of it! So have some good kachori/chaat/gulab jamun. And will also pray in #Vishwanathji temple! Har Har Mahadev! (sic)”
Instead of expressing his disappointment, Kher emphasized that he prefers not to waste time complaining about circumstances he cannot change. He said that he consciously avoids complaining over failures and instead looks for ways to turn them into meaningful experiences.
The cancellation comes amid a widespread phase IndiGo faces operational hurdles In recent days, several flights were reportedly affected due to air traffic congestion, weather related challengesand scheduling issues in key areas. The airline has issued an advisory urging passengers to check flight status and allow for delays as the situation continues to stabilize.
Later, IndiGo released a statement on the flight cancellation, which read, “Low visibility (below minimum) due to dense fog has severely impacted operations at Delhi and other airports across North India, which is unfortunately beyond our control. Our teams are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with Delhi Airport in line with established safety protocols. Although operations are adjusting to the prevailing weather, some flights may be delayed while safety measures are taken.” Some others may be proactively canceled throughout the day to help minimize inconvenience. We request customers to remain updated about their flight status through our website or mobile application. Our teams will be available to assist our customers at every stage of the journey.
Apart from Kher, actor Sonu Sood had also reacted to the chaos due to the ongoing flight cancellations.
