Actor Anupam Kher unveiled his first look as Mahatma Gandhi from director Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Bengal Files’. He mentioned how he portrayed the character without using any prosthetics.
Kher, in the motion poster of his appearance, can be seen dressed as a Mahatma, wearing glasses, white shawls, paired with dhoti while carrying a wooden stick. While sharing her look as Mahatma Gandhi on her Instagram handle, Kher wrote, “Some roles change your thoughts, your habits, your inner self.

Anupam has previously collaborated with Agnihotri in ‘The Kashmir Files’ (2022) and ‘Traffic in Buddha’ (2016). While living in ‘The Kashmir Files’, he portrayed a victim of Kashmiri Pandits’ genocide, he portrayed a manipulating professor in’ Buddha in a traffic jam ‘.
Agnihotri recently shared the teaser for ‘The Bengal Files’. The video claims a sad voice, “The main main Kashmiri Pandit Hoon, with the help of Yaken, is the second Kashmir Kashmir Kashmir is divided. The film marks the third installment in Agnihotri’s “Files” trilogy, after ‘Tashkent Files’ (2019) and ‘The Kashmir Files’ (2022). ‘The Bengal files: Right to Life’ is based on events like Direct Action Day and Nokhali riots.
The upcoming film also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, Puneet Isar and Saswata Chatterjee.
‘The Bengal Files’ is scheduled for release on 5 September 2025.
