Anupam Kher criticizes promotional tag on Dhurandhar 2: People are not stupid
Anupam Kher has hit out at critics who term Dhurandhar 2 as propaganda, saying the audience is not stupid as the Ranveer Singh starrer is running houseful in theatres. Speaking at the International Film Festival Delhi, the veteran actor urged people to ignore irrelevant voices and celebrate the success of the film.

Speaking at the International Film Festival Delhi (IFFD) 2026, Anupam said, “I think we should ignore those who are calling cinema propaganda films. We are putting too much energy on them, they are unnecessary people, they are irrelevant people.”

People who go to see a movie because they like it. And I think we should calmly say no to those who are calling it a propaganda film,” he said, highlighting the enthusiasm among moviegoers towards the film.
‘Cinema is also a business’
Anupam further added, “Can cinema change people, yes, it can. It depends on the individuals sitting in the dark auditorium, but it is also a business. It is like any other business. Many people run the channel as a business; they do not do it just to tell a story. But if I am going to watch a movie, I can get something out of it.”
Praised director Aditya Dhar
Earlier, the actor had praised Aditya Dhar on Instagram. He revealed that he had called stalwart The director personally congratulated him for his work.
