In short
- Anupam Kher describes himself and family as a victim of terrorism
- Kher expressed anger over the scenes of Pahalgam attack
- He praised Operation Sindoor of Modi government against Pakistan
Actor Anupam Kher talked about his personal experience with terrorism, describing himself and his family as victims. He recalled the plight of Kashmiri Pandits, who were forced to leave their homes on the night of 19 January 1990. Speaking to India, especially today, the actor-director also appreciated the Operation Sindoor of the Narendra Modi-led government, which was an attack against terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan.
Kher expressed his feelings of anger instead of helplessness, especially after watching distressed scenes such as a woman sitting with her dead husband during the Pahgam attack on 22 April. He said that like any common Indian, anger arose after seeing troubled images.
“I am a victim of terrorism. My family is a victim of terrorism. For 32 years, nothing happened to Kashmiri Pandits, who had to leave their homes one night on January 19, 1990. And then, there is something (mentioning the Pahgam incident) I am doing a lot. Because when I look at the scene of a woman sitting next to my dead husband, I explained to me like another common Indian.
“I stopped feeling helpless. I get angry now. I get angry when I look at the scene of a woman sitting next to my dead husband. When I see something like this, it makes me angry like some other normal Indian. So you expect your leadership to act. And when he did so, I thought. pic.twitter.com/G6LRUGH3AV– INDITODAY (@IndiaToday) May 31, 2025
Appreciating the government’s vengeance by launching Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, he said, “You expect your government or your leadership to act and when they did so, I felt that I do not know. I don’t know what this is the right word, but I think it would have happened.
Kher also appreciated our Indian armed forces for an accurate attack on nine terrorist bases in Pakistan. “How amazing our armies are, how intelligence information works. It is the leadership that takes decisions. Unfortunately, when 26/11 in Mumbai, the leadership did nothing about it and it was unfortunate. Now we know that we have people who will not take things,” they explained.
Twenty -six people were killed in one of the worst terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April. India launched Operation Sindoor on 7 May and attacked nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan.
