The Suriya-starrer gangster action film Anjaan, directed by N Lingusamy, was originally released in theaters on 15 August 2014. A decade after it first hit the big screen, the makers are now set to re-release the film with a re-edited version on November 28, 2025. However, it seems that the runtime will be shorter than before.
Will the re-release time of Suriya’s Anjaan be shorter than its original version?
According to a report in Let’s Cinema, the re-release period of Anjaan will be shorter than the original version, which released in theaters 10 years ago. The new runtime is expected to be 1 hour 59 minutes, while the original cut was 2 hours 40 minutes.
With such a large change in runtime, it appears that the film has undergone several edits, and some scenes have been removed or shortened in the new version. However, this is unconfirmed until the makers officially announce the final runtime.

Anjaan is a gangster action drama starring Suriya in the lead role. Directed by N Lingusamy, the film tells the story of Krishna, a young disabled man who travels to Mumbai in search of his elder brother Raju.
Upon arrival, he learns that his brother, a notorious gangster, is believed to be dead. The film explores what happens after Krishna uncovers his brother’s past and what lies ahead for him.
With Suriya appearing in dual roles, the film stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead role. Actors Vidyut Jammwal, Manoj Bajpayee, Dalip Tahil, Soori, Joe Malluri, Murali Sharma and many others played lead roles. Despite its strong cast and technical team, Anjaan was a box-office failure at the time of its release.
Surya’s upcoming movies
Suriya will next be seen in the lead role in Karuppu, directed by RJB (RJ Balaji). The action entertainer is expected to feature the retro actor as a lawyer who gets possessed by Lord Karuppuswamy to fight injustice in the society.
Along with Trisha Krishnan as the leading lady, the film also stars Indrans, Naty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sivadha, Supreeth Reddy and others in important roles.
Looking ahead, the actor is currently working on a film tentatively titled Suriya46 and is expected to start shooting for Suriya47 directed by Jeetu Madhavan in December this year.
