Filmmaker Prashanth Neel has pulled off an interesting casting coup by bringing together some of the biggest names from South and Bollywood for his film Dragon. Now, a report in Mid-Day says that Jr NTR will clash with Anil Kapoor in the anticipated action film. According to the publication, the King actor will be joining the team as the main antagonist.
It was also revealed that the film might have been pushed to late 2026, as opposed to its anticipated release in June this year. Earlier today, the actor-director duo was spotted in Mumbai, where they reportedly met to prepare for the film.
Speculations about Anil Kapoor joining Jr NTR’s film Dragon were put to rest when the senior Bollywood actor shared a poster of Dragon, revealing that he is starring in the film. He also wrote, “One has landed, the other two are in the queue. #Dragon.” Apart from him, Rukmini Vasanth is playing the lead role. Dragon will mark the third collaboration of Anil and Jr NTR.
Even though the shooting of the film began with much fanfare earlier this year, it faced many hurdles. A report in Bollywood Hungama states that Jr. NTR has asked the director to rework the script. According to an insider, NTR wants Dragon to succeed at any cost. Therefore, he is willing to go the extra mile to make sure it is perfect.
The source claimed, “NTR doesn’t like what Prashanth has shot so far. But he feels it can be better. He wants the content to be better than what it is now. He may even re-shoot some of the already filmed portions.”
Talking about Anil Kapoor, Dragon will mark the Bollywood actor’s return to Telugu cinema after 46 years. Kapoor made his debut as a lead actor in the 1980 Telugu language drama film, Vamsa Vriksham.
