Kapoor also used the occasion to praise the current wave of Kannada cinema, particularly praising the teams behind two of its biggest contemporary successes. “Hats off to Yash, Prashant Neel, Rishabh Shetty and the teams behind kgf And Kantara For raising the bar so high. Hopefully this won’t be my last association with this wonderful industry,” he said, acknowledging the impact of these films on the national reputation of Kannada cinema.
