Andrew Keegan may not have played the hero in the iconic 10 Things I Hate About You, in fact, his character was quite the opposite. But almost two and a half decades later, the actor who played the villainous Joey is here to convince us that maybe his on-screen character wasn’t so bad after all.

During a conversation with People Magazine, he reflected on his many roles in the ’90s, many of which were similar to his selfish intentions. He said, “I think as an actor we have so many different opportunities. I think I keep moving back and forth. 7th Heaven is here; yes, I was a single father so it’s Was bad’ but I watched a lot of movies and recent episodes and the character was also very cute.” He argues that his on-screen personality was not just ‘bad’ but was multidimensional with great depth.

As for 10 Things I Hate About You’s Joey, Keegan confirmed her, saying, “There was still something sweet about Joey, that cute kind of quality that I was identifying with.” He argued that since many actors bring some of their own personality to the roles they play, there must be “a little bit of them” in that role. He adds, “And I think I’m cute.”

The 45-year-old has led an interesting life to say the least. In the mid-2010s Starr was accused of being a cult leader. But as far as Keegan is concerned, he has denied all the rumors and called them baseless. Later, the actor also filed a defamation suit against AEG and Newsmax. But from the looks of things, things seem to have settled down now as he focuses on acting and being a father to his 8-year-old child.
