Andhra King Taluka starring Ram Pothineni in the lead role was released in theaters on November 27, 2025. Directed by Mahesh Babu Pachigola, the action-comedy drama is now available for streaming on OTT platform Netflix.

plot
Set during the 1990s–2000s, Andhra Raja Taluka tells the story of a superstar named Surya. He is going through a bad phase, as his previous films have failed at the box office. After the producer’s withdrawal, his 100th film is also in danger of being shelved, leaving him in a hopeless situation.
Fearing that shelving the film might mark the downfall of his career, Suriya approached another producer to finance the film with a budget of Rs 3 crore and help him complete it. However, to their surprise, the required amount was deposited into Surya’s bank account from an unknown source.
Curious, Surya starts searching for the source of the money, which leads him to Sagar, the president of the Andhra King Fans Association. As Suriya sets out on a journey to meet and know more about his ardent fan, the film explores how Sagar arranged the funds and what made him become such a devoted fan.
Good
After several of Ram Pothineni’s recent films did not receive an overwhelming response, Andhra’s Raja Taluka feels refreshed by him. The actor wholeheartedly dedicates himself to his role as Sagar, breaking away from his usual star image in Tollywood and bringing new nuances.
The layers of his character show how effectively a feel-good role can be written in a Telugu film. Set during the 1990s to 2000s, the film attempts to capture the essence of a star and the fans who create him.
Apart from Ram Pothineni, Upendra also plays an impressive role in the film despite limited screen time. The actors make the most of their presence to deliver a story that connects with the audience and adds emotional depth to the story.
In terms of writing, the film takes its time in setting up the plot, introducing the audience to the main characters in the first half. However, as the story enters the second half, it struggles with the change in pace, focusing too much on how much a star means to a fan, which may slow down the pace for some viewers.
Along with assured direction, the technical aspects of the film shine in its music, cinematography and production design. The music composed by Vivek-Merwin, especially the melodious track Chinni Gundelo, truly touches the heart.
bad
While the plot and narration are coherent, Andhra Raja Taluka faces pacing problems. There was a need for better improvement in the editing department to make the film more engaging, especially during the first half.
Additionally, the VFX elements sometimes appear clunky, which detracts from the overall experience of the film, especially during some key scenes.
Display
Ram Pothineni broke his stereotypical roles to play Sagar in Andhra Raja Taluka. The writing supports this change, as there are no high-octane group moments or over-the-top, preachy dialogue. The character is simple and Ram presents it with restraint and honesty.
Upendra has impressive moments, while Bhagyashree Borse has done well as the female lead and Sagar’s love interest.

Decision
Andhra King Taluka is an emotional and entertaining watch that offers something new to Ram Pothineni’s filmography. If you are looking for a feel-good action comedy, this is definitely worth a watch on OTT.
