As the world talks about sovereign tech stacks, it has become even more important to have a tech infrastructure that keeps a country’s data within its borders. Or in other words, if data is the new oil, there could be domestic cloud banks that will ensure that our data currency remains at home. Ananth Raj Limited and full-stack AI infrastructure provider Sabmar, aimed at building a sovereign cloud service in India, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the India AI Impact Summit 2026 to develop fully operational, AI-ready data centers across India.

The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 on Thursday. The deal comes as New Delhi steps up efforts to set up “sovereign AI” capabilities, ensuring that data processing and storage remain within national borders.

Under the agreement, Ananth Raj will leverage Submer’s exclusive liquid-cooling technology and its InferX “NeoCloud” platform to retrofit or build facilities capable of handling the intense heat generated by AI-centric graphics processing units (GPUs).

This initiative will initially focus on Anant Raj’s existing technology campuses in Manesar and Panchkula, Haryana. The company, which has transitioned from traditional real estate to digital infrastructure, has set an ambitious target of reaching 307 MW data center capacity by fiscal 2032.

“The partnership with Sabmar and InferX to provide sustainable AI data center and cloud services provides solutions to support our economic growth,” said Amit Sarin, Managing Director, Ananth Raj Limited. He said the project is in line with the federal “Digital India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India) initiatives.

“India is at a critical moment in its digital transformation,” said Patrick Smeets, CEO of Sabmar. “We bring high-performance AI computation online faster while significantly reducing environmental impact.”
