Anaganaga Oka Raju, starring Naveen Polishetty and Meenakshi Choudhary in the lead roles, was released in theaters on January 14, 2026, on the occasion of Sankranthi. The film is now available for streaming on Netflix.

If you are planning to watch the movie online, here is the Pinkvilla review for you.

plot

Anaganaga Oka Raju is the story of Raju, a sharp and street-smart young man from a small village who believes that clever shortcuts are enough to succeed in life. He relies primarily on intelligence and others rather than hard work, hoping to rise above his circumstances without enduring the hardships of rural life.

When he meets Charulata and falls in love with her, she brings emotional grounding to his otherwise opportunistic approach. However, as he juggles love, family expectations, and social responsibilities, his habit of choosing the easy path leads to conflicts with both his family and community.

When an incident turns into a life-changing moment, Raju is forced to face the consequences of his actions and rethink his ideas about success, respect, and responsibility.

Good

Anaganaga Oka Raju is undoubtedly a fun and lively film for Telugu cinema, with many genuinely humorous moments. Directed by Naveen Polishetty, the film is an enjoyable and effortless watch.

The narrative has been deliberately kept light, allowing the story to unfold at a slow pace. The situational comedy and dialogue-based moments work well within the script, even if after a point it becomes a bit uneven.

Set in a rural setting, the story progresses at a natural pace and the humor feels organic rather than forced. Both Naveen Polishetty and Meenakshi Choudhary carry the film with charming performances.

On the technical front, director Maari delivers an impressive execution of the story. The scenes are also visually appealing and rich.

bad

While the film remains entertaining for the most part, Anaganaga Oka Raju loses momentum in the second half. It fails to maintain the momentum established earlier, making later parts less engaging.

Apart from its comedic moments, the film offers limited depth in terms of plot and writing. Additionally, the use of supporting actors other than the lead actors appears to be less and less effective.

From a technical standpoint, the editing lacks tightness, which hampers the overall viewing experience a bit.

Display

As seen in many of his films, Naveen Polishetty gives his best performance while delivering an impressive performance. His charm and comic timing add significant entertainment value.

Similarly, Meenakshi Choudhary performs well in the co-lead role and balances the emotional dynamics of the story effectively.
