Amy Lu Wood kept her Manchester in ‘The White Lotus’
Amy Lu Wood placed her Manchester pronunciation in the White Lotus season 3 at the request of Mike White. She assures fans that she can do an American pronunciation but found unnecessary to the role.

Unlike several characters in the White Lotus season 3, Chelsea is not American. The character played by Amy Lu Wood is from Manchester, who is like an actress herself.
Wood revealed that she initially considered using an American accent for the role, but eventually stuck with her natural one at the request of producer Mike White. “I can pronounce an American. But Mike only wanted my Manchester one, ”Wood told The Sun.
According to Variety, Wood believes that there is a different reason that she does not come as Americans. “This is a tooth!” No American has teeth. I think it is really one of things, “he commented.
Reversing a previous experience, Wood shared an anecdote about performing in a drama in Chicago. “I played an American in a drama in Chicago and later at once the man was talking to me, and he went away: ‘I knew it. I knew. Your pronunciation was very good but I knew that you were not an American. You just don’t look American,” he said.
According to the variety, Wood clarified that he was fully capable of delivering a solid American accent, but white found it unnecessary to the role. “He just didn’t see why he needs to be American or why we need to connect that additional layer of distance between me and him, he told Elle.
Wood, while addressing his ability to do an American accent, also said that people have misunderstood the situation. “So he was so,” Let’s just make him from Manchester. ” And I was so, ‘Great.’ And did this work. But it was very funny because everyone was like this, ‘So you could not pronounce American.’
