Amitabh Bachchan says his ‘reason’ for continuing to work even at 81 is ‘closed shutter and lock’; asks ‘is there a problem with that?’

Amitabh Bachchan has once again said this for those who are constantly asking him the reason for continuing to work even at the age of 81. The veteran star, who has been active in showbiz for the last 55 years, recently wrote a long blog in which he addressed those who want to know what the purpose of his job is. Big B started his blog by saying that he has no specific answer to this question, except that “This is another job opportunity for me… what other reason can there be.”

The veteran actor further said that others can have their own assessment of working opportunities and circumstances. The senior Bachchan then advised him to step into his shoes and find out whether his opinion is right or wrong. “You have the freedom to draw your own conclusions and I have the freedom to do my work,” Big B said.

Amitabh Bachchan did not stop here and added more words to his cryptic post. He accepted the fact that his reason may not agree with many, but he has listened to the people as everyone has a right to speak their mind. The Agneepath actor further added, “You said, I listened, I told the reason for working… that is me… the reason I have is mine… closed shutter and locked.”

Bachchan sahab further added that some people’s ‘material impotence’ forces them to build their sand castles and enjoy its construction (many of which fall down). In his concluding note, Big B said, “You who build them, find a measure of permanence .. if it is built for you and your business .. my job is done and it is stable – I work .. that’s it .. is there a problem with that? Then .. get to work and find out.”

Amitabh Bachchan shared a few pictures from the sets of his game show Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, sharing his signature lines. He wished fans to dive into the divine season of the upcoming Ganpati Festival and in fact, the pictures he shared also featured him dressed in traditional attire.

On the work front, Bachchan was last seen playing the role of the immortal Ashwatthama in Kalki 2898 AD and will next be seen in Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyaan, which will mark his Tamil film debut.
