Iran on Sunday hit back strongly at US President Donald Trump’s profanity-laden ‘Threat on Tuesday’, saying his ‘reckless actions’ are dragging Washington towards ‘living hell’.The sharp reaction came as Tehran accused Trump of escalating tensions and pushing the region toward dangerous instability as conflict in the Middle East continues to escalate.Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Tehran’s parliament speaker, accused Trump of recklessly escalating tensions in a post on Twitter and alleged that Washington’s actions were motivated by Israeli interests, especially those of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He wrote, “Your reckless actions are plunging the United States into hell for every single family, and our entire region is going to burn because you insist on following Netanyahu’s orders. Make no mistake: You will achieve nothing through war crimes. The only real solution is to respect the rights of the Iranian people and end this dangerous game.”
Trump’s ultimatum strait of hormuz
Ghalibaf’s statement came after Trump issued a stern warning to Iran, demanding that it reopen the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, a major global oil shipping route, and threatening serious military action if Tehran failed to comply. In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day in Iran, all wrapped into one. Nothing like it will happen!!! Open the f****n straight, you crazy *****, or you’ll be in Hell – just watch! Praise Allah,” he said.Earlier, Trump had also given a 48-hour ultimatum, saying: “Remember when I gave Iran ten days to make a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz. Time is running out – 48 hours before it rains heavily on them. glory be to God! President Donald J. Trump.”
Iran rejects threat, military officials strongly rebuke
Iran has strongly rejected Trump’s warning, with senior military officials also responding in strongly worded terms. General Ali Abdullahi Aliabadi, head of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya central headquarters, described the US president’s remarks as “a helpless, panicked, unbalanced and foolish action.”According to AFP, he echoed Trump’s threat, saying: “The simple meaning of this message is that the gates of hell will open for you.”The exchange comes amid heightened tensions following reports that a US F-15 fighter jet was shot down by Iranian air defenses earlier this week, prompting a high-risk rescue operation by US forces. In a separate post, Trump claimed that US forces successfully rescued an injured crew member from inside Iranian territory, calling it a rare and dangerous mission. The latest exchange comes amid an escalating situation in West Asia where the US, Israel and Iran are involved in a conflict that began on February 28.
