Ameesha Patel reacts to new warrant in Moradabad incident case: Old and resolved
Ameesha Patel has reacted after a Moradabad court issued a non-bailable warrant against her in a 2017 wedding event controversy. The actor described the case as old and settled, alleging false claims and said that his legal team would take action.

Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel has reacted after a Moradabad court issued a non-bailable warrant against her in connection with a controversy related to a 2017 incident. Responding to the reports, the actor called the matter an old and settled issue and said that legal action will be taken against what he termed as false allegations.
In a statement, Ameesha said, “Media reports have stated about some proceedings in Moradabad by a person named Pawan Verma. I wish to inform everyone that this is a 15 year old case, in which Pawan Verma had signed a settlement letter and received the entire agreed amount. Yet it appears that he has filed the proceedings making false allegations. My lawyers are initiating appropriate criminal proceedings for fraud against this person to expose his lies and deception, Whereas I prefer to focus on my work and ignore those who choose to create a public spectacle to draw attention to false excuses.”

The development comes after the Moradabad ACJM-5 court on Monday issued a non-bailable warrant against the actor for his absence from the scheduled hearing on Monday. Now he has been directed to appear in the court on March 27.
The matter is about a decade old. In 2017, Moradabad-based event manager Pawan Verma had filed a complaint alleging that Ameesha had taken Rs 11 lakh to attend a wedding ceremony in the city, but despite receiving the payment, she did not turn up. According to the complaint, the actor traveled from Mumbai to Delhi but on arrival allegedly demanded an additional Rs 2 lakh in cash. When the event company refused to pay the additional amount, she reportedly returned to Mumbai and did not attend the event.

About two years ago, Ameesha had appeared in Moradabad court and obtained bail. However, it has been alleged that he did not follow the bail conditions thereafter, leading the court to again issue the non-bailable warrant.
Advocate Pankaj Sharma, on behalf of the complainant, said that the court has issued a warrant and called Ameesha Patel to appear on March 27.
