According to his LinkedIn Profile, he then worked as a member of his company, Project 529 (which he established in 2007), and received his fellowship until he joined Amazon in September 2024. At the time of writing the story, his current role in Amazon was listed as the vice president of Zeroon.

Additionally, Amazon has allegedly brought people from its various divisions together, drawing on expertise from the teams behind Alexa, Luna Cloud Gaming Platform and Hello Sleep-tracking device, which is now according to LinkedIn Profiles working on zero initiatives. One of the group leaders is the former head of the light form, which is a projection mapping startup acquired by the first Amazon.

While Amazon is setting up a new team, the company is also cutting some corners at the same time. Earlier this year, Amazon laid 100 employees from its device and services unit, which oversees products such as Eco speakers, Alexa, Kindle and Zox Self-Driving cars. According to the company, these layoffs were required to better align with their product roadmap and streamline operations. Was it preparing to set up a zero team? Perhaps. At that time, the company said that the trimming would help the company move faster.
