Social media reactsAmazon’s dodi secrecy history

From March 28, Amazon Eco users will no longer have the option to process their Alexa voice recording locally, which means that those recordings will be sent to the company’s cloud. Alexa currently provides an opt-in facility called “do not not voice recording” to its customers that prevents audio requests from being sent to Amazon.

The company said in an email sent to Eco customers, “We are arriving to tell you that Alexa feature ‘Do not do voice recording’ that you have enabled on your supported Eco device (s), it will no longer be available from March 28, 2025,” in an email sent to Eco customers who have enabled the option.

“If you don’t take action, your Alexa settings will be automatically updated to ‘not saving’.”

While voice recording will be processed into the cloud, Email said that they would be “removed” after Alexa processed requests. If a user returns to the previous settings, they can lose personal features such as voice ID, calendar event, reminder, music and more.

“If your voice recording setting is updated to ‘not to save’, voice ID will not work and you will not be able to create voice IDs to access more personal features for individual users.”

Vikas comes at a time when Amazon is launching a new version of its voice-controlled AI assistant, called Alexa+.

“As we continue to expand Alexa’s abilities with generative AI features, which rely on the processing power of Amazon’s safe cloud, we have now decided not to support this feature.”

Amazon in an explanation New York Post Said that the opt-in feature was available only with equipment set in English for customers in the US. The company claimed that less than 0.03 percent of the customers used the feature.

Reacting to email, social media users expressed disappoint

,Great opportunity to close Amazon Alexa! “One user said, while each other said:” Alexa’s full AI version is not a major setback with them. ,

One third remarked: “Yes, and that’s why I have always encouraged all those I know that I never buy Amazon products.”

Amazon’s dodi secrecy history

Customers have long expressed concern about dealing with Amazon and Alexa’s voice data. In 2023, the US-based company agreed to pay $ 25 million in an agreement with the Federal Trade Commission for recording children’s conversations with Alexa.

Tech giants also reached their ring doorbell camera unit to settle $ 5.8 million, when FTC stated that the device was used for espionage of some customers.
