Amazon has announced two new additions for its Kindle Lineup-a more affordable version of Kindle Colorsoft and a brand-new Kindle Colorsoft Kids version. This original Kindle marks the company’s latest expansion in color e-readers, after a strong demand for Kindle Colorsoft, which was earlier launched. According to the official press note, Amazon claims that their customers prefer to read kindle in color, and on average, they spend more time on Kindle Colorsoft and read hundreds of more pages than our other kindle devices.

The latest kindle colorsoft with 16GB storage is priced at $ 249.99 (about Rs 21,600), while Kindle Colorsoft Kids Edition comes at $ 269.99 (about Rs 23,400) and includes one year membership for Amazon Kids Plus. Both devices are now available to buy in the US.

The Kindle Colorsoft 16GB model keeps all the main features of the original when reduced the entry price. Users get a high-contrast color display, adjustable warm lighting and battery life weeks. For many readers, it is a performance that makes the difference, supports the color book covers, comics and graphic novels, as well as exposing the readers in many colors such as yellow, orange, pink or blue. The interface has also been ticked to allow features like page color, which inverts background and text colors and gives the option to read in dark mode.

Amazon says that customers are not only buying more kindles, but are reading more pages on them, a trend that is running his investment in color reading experiences. So far in 2025, Kindle users have read more than 129 billion pages, Kindle Colorsoft users have allegedly read average hundreds of more pages than other models.

Kindle Colorsoft Kids is coming to the edition-it is intended for young readers, and a colorful protective case, Amazon’s two-year concern-free guarantee, and Amazon Kids Plus comes with one year of membership. It is designed to be distraught without any app or message, while providing access to a wide range of books and comics, including a popular series such as the Diary of a vampi kids and Percy Jackson. Characteristics such as the vocabulary builder, word -war, and support for openyslexic font also make it more favorable for children who create confidence of reading.

Parents will be able to track materials and reading progresses through Amazon parent dashboard, which also allows to set bedtime for the device. There are two design options for choosing – fantasy River and Starlite Reading – and the device supports Bluetooth headphones for audibook.
