The much-awaited sequel of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ starring Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna, ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ will now release in theatres on December 6, 2024. Arjun shared the announcement on social media along with a new poster on Monday, June 17.

Sharing the new poster on his Instagram handle, Allu Arjun wrote, “#Pushpa2TheRule in cinemas from 6th December, 2024.” The poster shows Arjun’s character Pushpa in a tough avatar with a sword slung over his shoulder.

Following the announcement, the filmmakers shared a detailed note to explain the delay. An official note on the Mythri Movie Makers’ X handle read, “Pushpa 2 The Rule is one of the most anticipated Indian films. After the immense success of Pushpa: The Rise, our responsibility to deliver excellence has increased significantly. We are working tirelessly to complete the film and release it once and for all. However, due to the remaining shoot and subsequent post-production work, we will not be releasing the film on August 15, 2024.”

It further added, “This decision has been taken in the best interest of the film, the audience and all stakeholders, with our aim being to deliver a memorable experience on the big screen without compromising on quality. The overall response to our teasers and songs across languages ​​has been encouraging, and we promise to deliver a film that you will truly love.”

Had the film released on August 15, it would have clashed with Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’ and Nikkhil Advani’s ‘Veda’. However, the makers of the former announced last week that the Ajay Devgn starrer will release on Diwali 2024.

Now, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Khel Khel Mein’, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Stree 2’ and Puri Jagannadh’s ‘Double iSmart’ will release in theatres on Independence Day 2024.

Meanwhile, the prequel ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ released in 2021. Directed by Sukumar, the film featured Allu Arjun in the lead role, while Rashmika played his love interest Srivalli. Fahadh Faasil played the main antagonist SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
