Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married in April 2022 in a private ceremony at their home in Mumbai, attended by close friends and family. The wedding was full of heartwarming moments, and now, mehndi artist Veena Nagda, in a conversation with Pinkvilla Hindi Rush, has revealed that Bhatt chose a minimal round mehndi design, which she likes the most. Veena shared her experiences of attending various Bollywood weddings and creating mehndi designs, including a notable memory of Bhatt’s minimal yet beautiful mehndi design for her own wedding.
Talking about her experience of working with the Raazi actor, Veena revealed that the actress loves mehndi and is always excited to get designs made on her hands. “Alia loves a particular round minimalistic mehndi design which she had earlier got done for a commercial shoot,” Veena added.
This design was chosen for Alia’s wedding with Kapoor, reflecting her preference for round patterns. Notably, Alia’s wedding mehndi was also seen during the shooting of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which took place just a week after her wedding. For the wedding sequence of the film, she further enhanced the existing design by making the mehndi darker.
Veena revealed that she has been working with Alia since her debut in Student of the Year. At that time, designer Manish Malhotra had asked Veena to keep her involvement a secret, as Alia was being introduced as the new heroine. Since then, Veena has done Alia’s mehndi for various films and ad shoots.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Bhatt is currently shooting for Yash Raj Film’s spy film Alpha, which stars him alongside Sharvari Wagh. The two recently completed their Kashmir schedule and also shared a picture on their social media accounts. Alpha is directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra.
She will next be seen in Vasan Bala’s Zirgra opposite Vedang Raina. Zirgra will hit the theatres on October 11, 2024. The film is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. She also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War with Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. The actress is also in talks with Farhan Akhtar for Jee Le Zara alongside Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra.
